Before placing your first guess, look closely at the photo for these clues:

Language: Are there any billboards, street names, or shop signs? Look at the script. For example, accented letters might be French or Vietnamese, while curly scripts often indicate languages such as Thai or Cambodian.

License Plates: The color and format of license plates are huge clues for narrowing down the country.

Utility Poles & Infrastructure: The style of power poles or whether cars drive on the left or right says a lot.

Step 2: Use a Strategic Bait Guess

The first move is crucial. If you're completely lost, drop your pin at the center of your suspected area to narrow your search.

For instance, if the photo shows a quiet scene with greenery and homes, go for countries with similar vibes, such as Japan or Bhutan.

Every guess provides a distance estimate. If the mileage is high, you're heading in the wrong direction.
