Obscordle

Overview on Obscordle

Obscordle is a word puzzle game that takes inspiration from the well-known Wordle NYT.

In Obscordle, players must figure out a five-letter word by looking at the colors of the letters after each try.

Just as in Wordle, the colors in Obscordle give rules and are key clues for players to enhance their guesses.

Players must decode the meaning of the colors and employ that information to enter the necessary words to identify the concealed word.

The target of the game is to discover the right word by relying on the interpretation of the colors of the characters. How can you come up with the correct answer in 6 tries?

Nevertheless, you can be assured that if you fail, you can freely play again as many times as you wish.

Obscordle does not impose any restrictions on the number of plays, allowing you to experiment and devise a suitable strategy.

How To Play

Regarding the grid system: Obscordle will offer a 5x6 grid, matching the 5-letter secret word and the player's 6 attempts.

Player's guess: Begin by making the first prediction randomly, but it is advisable to choose words with diverse vowels and no repeated characters.

Color response: After every turn, the game will give feedback by changing the color of the letters you guessed. The colors have specific meanings:

  • Green:
  • The letter is in the secret word and is correctly placed.
  • Yellow:
  • The letter is in the secret word but is incorrectly placed.
  • Gray:
  • The letter is not in the secret word.

Inference and subsequent guesses: Based on the color response, players need to infer to identify the right place of the yellow characters. From there, make the next predictions.

Guessing limit: In Obscordle, the number of guesses is set at 6 tries per play, so you need strategic thinking to guess correctly within that limited number of attempts.

Securing a win: The player who guesses the secret word correctly within the given number of attempts will be the champion. If no one guesses correctly, the game is over, and the secret word is displayed.
